                    FISHING REPORT  5/ 31/26 

fishing remains very solid out of Ludington with great mixed bag catches. 70-90fow worked best for us this week. The bait fish is so plentiful you could see oil slicks on the surface Friday morning it was so flat. Have not seen this in a very long time. lake trout are puking up live alewives as you are catching them. we only fished a couple of rods for trout with 8” chrome lake trout candy spinny paired with chrome Mountain Dew whirly gig and 8” chrome spinny with a white pink dot whirly gig did the best. Also took some on a 8” Charlie special spinny and a green crinkle fly on the low deeper diver. Our kings were mostly 3 year olds that were sure spunky in the cold water after the north winds. 8”blue bubble spinny with blue bubble action fly down the shoot And a 8” white slick spinny green mile meat rig on brocks high diver were about the only rotator bites we had. Fireball spoon on a high DW slide diver with a 70’ lead fishing about 20’ down took some good bites. 7/10 color lead cores with a SS starburst and a DW leopard frog were best. we changed our riggers I don’t even know how many times but only caught small throw back kings on SS Rasta goose free sliders basically. We are looking forward to taking out our veterans Friday for our annual Fish on For Freedom event here in ludington. we will have a report and results Friday afternoon before the weekend!
